I didn't start in finance. I started in law — specifically, real estate law in Nigeria, where I spent years structuring transactions, navigating complex title issues, and representing clients in some of the most contested property markets on the continent.
That foundation changed everything. While most finance professionals think in spreadsheets, I think in structures. How a deal is legally organized matters as much as the numbers on the page — and most investors find that out the hard way.
After years at the intersection of law and real estate in West Africa — including a role as Head of Deal Structuring & Legal at Sun Planet Co. Ltd. in Lagos — I made the move to the U.S. market. I came not just to change geography, but to bring a different lens to an industry that often treats financing as a commodity.
I sharpened my U.S. market instincts as a Mortgage Banker at Rocket Mortgage, learning the full residential and investor lending landscape from the inside — underwriting, compliance, deal qualification, and the pace that American real estate demands.
Today, as Vice President at Civic Financial Services in Manhattan, I work with real estate investors nationwide — structuring bridge loans, fix & flip financing, DSCR products, and multifamily capital solutions. My clients aren't just looking for a lender. They're looking for someone who reads the deal the way they do.
That's what I bring. Legal precision. Finance fluency. Deal instinct built across two continents.
